Don't Buy a Laptop Until You've Read This! 10 Best Laptops to Buy in 2022

Laptops are essential tools in today’s world. Whether you need to complete your daily work, or you want to relax by watching movies and playing games, laptops provide plenty of entertainment possibilities. As you begin researching your laptop options, you may find yourself intimidated by the sheer number of models available. Don’t stress! We’ve got the rundown on the best laptops to buy in 2022, so read on and discover your new favorite laptop!

Apple MacBook Air M2

1) Apple MacBook Air (M2)

Price: $1179.00

This computer is a good choice for gamers because it is high-quality with an affordable price. The battery timing is 5 hours, the resolution of this laptop is 1440 x 900, and the processor speed is 2.4 GHz.

The entry-level model costs $1,199 and comes with 8GB of memory, 256GB of storage, an 8-core CPU, and an 8-core GPU. It costs $1,399 for a laptop with 512GB of storage, which is what we advise for most users and will enable you to use the device for longer. Although the M1 Pro or M1 Max processors found within the bigger (and more costly) MacBook Pro models are faster and more powerful, the M2 CPU inside is still incredibly quick. In our tests, it operated with little to no heat or lag when handling heavy office workloads. You'll struggle to find a computer with this mix of power and mobility anywhere else given how tiny and light this one is.

One thing to note about the MacBook Air is that it has only one USB port, so if you're going to be gaming often, you'll need to invest in a USB hub or use Bluetooth accessories.  The refresh rate on this device is 60 Hz, which may not be great for hardcore gamers. However, the refresh rate can be upgraded from 60 Hz to 120 Hz by replacing the screen panel. If you are looking for something more budget friendly, check out our next option!

Apple MacBook Air M1

2) MacBook Air (M1)

Price: $1199

You would likely be better served with 2020's M1 MacBook Air, which Apple is still selling, if you're looking for a lightweight MacBook but the Air is out of your price range. The entry-level model costs $999 and comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

A 13.3-inch, 2560 x 1600 screen, Touch ID, 720p camera, fingerprint sensor, and scissor-switch keyboard are features of the previous Air.

While not nearly as quick as the M2, the M1 is nonetheless quick. It performed better than virtually every thin and light laptop powered by Intel that we tested this year when it came to heavy picture and video editing tasks. Additionally, it managed to run Forza Horizon V at frame rates that were almost playable, which is impressive for integrated graphics.

The battery life is likewise extremely similar to the M2's, albeit not quite as fantastic though it was able to withstand close to nine hours of work.

MacBook Pro (14-inch and 16-inch)

3) MacBook Pro (14-inch and 16-inch)

Price (14-Inch): $1464

The 16-inch MacBook Pro is Apple's most powerful laptop to date. You'll probably be happy with what this machine can achieve if you're prepared to pay the price.

The MacBook Pro 16 performed better than any laptop we've ever used in our benchmarks, which measure a range of creative activities including encoding, playback, and export time. The only other devices that have come close to matching this beast in any of our benchmarks are high-end desktop PCs. Additionally breaking records, the battery life. The longest-lasting laptop we've ever examined, the 16-inch configuration with the M1 Pro CPU lasted 16 hours in my tests.

We have very few other criticisms with the most recent MacBook Pro. When watching HDR material, its stunning display may surpass 1,000 nits. It combines that with the greatest laptop speakers we've ever heard. And unlike the Air, which can only output to one external monitor, these Pro versions can output to numerous screens.

The MacBook Pro 16 is the finest computer for you if you're searching for one that can handle a heavy task and double as an amazing multimedia tool when you're not working.

LG Gram 17

4) LG Gram 17

Price: $1399

Even if you've already used a lightweight laptop, it's difficult to describe how light the LG Gram 17 is. Despite having a huge 17-inch display, it weighs only three pounds. Your mind becomes confused when you pick it up; you believe you are not holding anything.

However, the Gram 17's weight isn't its only distinctive quality. In our tests, the battery lasted more than 12 hours, making it one of the greatest battery life options available. There isn't much to dislike about this device when you add a wonderful keyboard, a wide range of useful ports, quiet fans, and a quick processor.

Many people who do require a 17-inch monitor are seeking for a heavier-duty workstation that is probably not moved very often. However, not everyone needs one.

However, if you simply want a big screen for watching Netflix and doing your regular office job, you fit the target market for this device. It's a specialized, yet really remarkable product with no actual competition right now.

HP Pavilion Aero 13

5) HP Pavilion Aero 13

Price: Starts from $949.99

HP crammed a lot of value into the Aero 13: a gorgeous magnesium-aluminum body, strong processing power, lengthy battery life, a brilliant, vivid display, and a weight of under 2 pounds (0.94 kilograms). Amazingly, despite all of its features, the beginning price is less than $700. The Intel Core i7 8550U processor offers plenty of processing strength for multitasking with 16GB RAM.  HP packs in 128GB of solid state storage, which gives this laptop a responsive feel when opening applications or loading up games. It also has speedy 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 technology that you can use to connect peripherals like printers or speakers wirelessly to your laptop while also remaining connected to the internet at home or work with ease. For ports, you get two USB 3.1 Type-C Thunderbolt ports as well as one standard USB 3.1 port for connecting devices like mice, external hard drives, thumb drives, etc., and HDMI output so you can easily connect this laptop to an external monitor if desired.

HP Victus 15

6) HP Victus 15

Price: Starts from $1109

HP has just unveiled the latest addition to their impressive lineup of laptops, HP Victus 15. It is a 15.6 laptop with an Intel Core i7-9750H and NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti dedicated graphics card (GPU). Powered by NVIDIA GeForce Experience that uses AI to automatically optimize game settings based on your needs.

With up to 16GB of DDR4-2666 RAM and 512GB SSD storage you can play most games on the market right now, including AAA titles like Forza Horizon 4, Red Dead Redemption 2, Battlefield V and Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The screen features Full HD resolution, 144Hz refresh rate and an anti-glare panel so you can use it outside without any difficulty. The battery will last for around 8 hours which is great for gaming on the go.

The Victus 15 should work just fine as long as you don't intend to run Microsoft Flight Simulator, which is notorious for bricking GPUs, Shadow of the Tomb Raider (since there isn't enough VRAM), or any other game that demands a lot of graphics horsepower.

The one thing we don't like about the HP Victus 15 is how frequently the Acer Nitro 5 is on sale. It was only $50 more expensive than the HP at one point. The Nitro 5 outperforms the Victus 15 in our tests, and it also includes a cutting-edge Nvidia GeForce RTX 30-series GPU.

Regular discounts are also available on the HP Victus 15. Once, it fell to $699. The Victus 15 is a tremendous deal at that price. That makes it significantly more tempting because the Nitro 5 is $150 more expensive. In conclusion, if you can, wait till the HP Victus 15's price drops below $700. In that case, the Nitro 5 is a superior buy, especially if you can get one for $850.

Razer Book 13

8) Razer Book 13

Price: $1799

The firm Razer is well known for its gaming laptops, but with the release of its new Razer Book 13, it is making a significant statement in the business and productivity world. The Book 13 is a lightweight, beautiful, aluminum-built portable workstation that weighs 3.09 pounds and is only 0.6 inches thick. One of the only non-gaming laptops out today with a per-key RGB keyboard, it has a solid port selection that includes Thunderbolt 4, USB-A, HDMI 2.0, and a microSD slot.

This laptop is even more amazing on the inside. Our Premiere Pro media export test revealed that this laptop's potent CPU performed better than any other Windows laptop of its size.

Even though the Book 13 isn't a gaming laptop, it has some of the finest integrated graphics gaming performance I've ever seen. It can even run Shadow of the Tomb Raider at over 30 frames per second. The Razer Book 13 is an exceptional laptop all around, combining a premium design with potent work performance, even though its hefty price means it won't be suited for everyone.

Lenovo Yoga 9i

9) Lenovo Yoga 9i

Price: $1649

One important flaw that the majority of light and thin laptops have is their narrow, tinny audio. With the Lenovo Yoga 9i, such is not the case. The speakers of this 14-inch convertible face outwards regardless of how it is positioned thanks to a rotating soundbar in the hinge. Whether you're using the 9i in tablet, tent, or clamshell form, you can expect crisp, booming sound.

There is also a great deal more to like. You have a fantastic 1080p touch screen with an included pen for simple note-taking and drawing. Performance and battery life are adequate thanks to the 11th-Gen CPUs. An unrivaled gadget for multimedia pleasure because of the screen, audio quality, and flexible form factor.
